Reconnecting ReminderIt after a Claude update

If ReminderIt's tools vanish after a Claude update, here is how to refresh the connector at mcp.reminderit.com, re-authorise, and confirm they return.

Now and then a client update, a new version, or an expired session leaves ReminderIt's tools greyed out or missing in Claude. It looks alarming; it is almost always a two-minute fix.

Why the tools sometimes disappear

Connectors can drop after an app update, a long idle period, or an authorisation that has timed out. When that happens Claude no longer sees the ReminderIt tools, so asking it to set a reminder gets a shrug rather than a scheduled call.

Your reminders themselves are untouched. They live on ReminderIt's side and keep running; only the link between Claude and your account has gone stale.

Re-add or refresh the connector

Open your client's connector or integration settings and find the ReminderIt entry. Many clients offer a refresh or reconnect option; use it first. If the entry is gone entirely, add a fresh custom connector pointing at https://mcp.reminderit.com.

Menu names and layouts shift between versions, so look for the general connector settings rather than a fixed click-path. The URL is the part that never changes.

Re-authorise your account

Reconnecting sends you back through the ReminderIt OAuth screen. Sign in and approve access again. This mints a fresh per-client key in your account, so the old, stale one is simply retired.

If you like a tidy account, you can later remove any dead entries at reminderit.com/api-keys.

Example: verify the tools are back

Do not just assume it worked; prove it. Ask "Who am I signed in as on ReminderIt?" so Claude runs whoami and confirms the account, then "List my reminders" to exercise list_reminders against live data.

The ReminderIt connector exposes a full set of 25 tools, covering reminders, voice settings, and account actions. If whoami and list_reminders both respond cleanly, the whole set has returned and you are back in business.

If it still will not connect

Remove the connector completely, restart the client, then add https://mcp.reminderit.com again from scratch. A clean re-add clears most lingering session problems.

As a final check, sign in at reminderit.com/api-keys to confirm the key from your latest authorisation is present and active.
