Reconnecting ReminderIt in ChatGPT after a sign-out

If ChatGPT has stopped reaching your reminders after a sign-out, re-authorise the ReminderIt connector via OAuth and confirm it with a single whoami check.

Every so often a connection lapses: you signed out, switched accounts, or an OAuth session simply expired. Suddenly ChatGPT shrugs when you ask it to set a call. The fix is quick, and this post walks through it so your reminders are back within a minute.

How to tell the connection has dropped

The tell-tale sign is ChatGPT replying that it cannot access your reminders, or acting as though ReminderIt does not exist when you ask it to schedule a call. It may also list no ReminderIt tools when you check the connector.

None of this means anything is wrong with your reminders themselves. They are safe in your ReminderIt account; ChatGPT has simply lost its authorised link to it.

Re-authorise the connector via OAuth

Open ChatGPT's connector or integration settings and find the ReminderIt connector pointing at https://mcp.reminderit.com. Choose to reconnect or sign in again, and complete the OAuth screen just as you did the first time.

Because this is the hosted route, there is no key to re-enter. You are re-approving access, and ReminderIt refreshes the per-client key it holds in your account automatically.

Confirm the 25 tools have returned

Once the OAuth screen closes, ReminderIt exposes its full set of 25 tools again, covering reminders, voices and your account. You can glance at the connector to see them listed, or simply test one.

A natural way to confirm is to ask ChatGPT something ordinary, such as "what reminders do I have?" If it returns your list via list_reminders, the tools are back.

Verify with whoami

For a clean, unambiguous check, ask: "Run whoami on ReminderIt." The whoami tool reports which ReminderIt account ChatGPT is now acting on, so you can be sure the reconnection landed on the right account and not a stray second login.

If whoami names the account you expect, you are done. New reminders will schedule as normal and your existing ones were never affected.

If reconnecting keeps failing

Should the connector refuse to re-authorise, check that you are signed in to the ChatGPT account you originally used, since the connector is tied to that account. A different login will not see the same connection.

You can also review active access at reminderit.com/api-keys. If you had revoked a key there, that would explain a broken link; simply reconnect through OAuth to issue a fresh one.
