Connect your AI assistant to ReminderIt

ReminderIt ships an MCP server, so the AI assistant you already use can manage your reminder calls directly. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other Model Context Protocol clients all connect the same way.

There are two routes: a hosted connector that needs no install and no API key, and a local method for Claude Desktop or your own agent. Both give your assistant the same set of twenty-five tools.

Method 1 — the hosted connector

This is the recommended route and the fastest. In your client's connector or integration settings, add a custom connector with the URL https://mcp.reminderit.com, then sign in once through a secure OAuth screen and approve access. No API key changes hands. ReminderIt creates a per-client key in your account behind the scenes, and you can revoke it whenever you like at reminderit.com/api-keys. Menu names vary between clients and versions, so look for "connectors" or "custom connector" rather than a fixed click-path.

Method 2 — local or self-host

If you run Claude Desktop or your own agent, you can connect locally. Sign up at reminderit.com, open API Keys in the dashboard and create a key (they look like rmt_...). Then run pip install reminderit-mcp and add a small block to your client's config pointing the reminderit-mcp command at https://api.reminderit.com with your key in the environment. Restart the client and ask in natural language. This method suits developers and anyone who prefers to hold their own key.

The twenty-five tools

Once connected, your assistant can genuinely act. For reminders it has list_reminders, get_reminder, list_upcoming, create_reminder, update_reminder, pause_reminder, resume_reminder, set_skip_dates, skip_next_occurrence, test_call and delete_reminder. For voice there is list_voices, preview_voice, get_voice_settings, set_voice_settings, set_reminder_voice, clear_reminder_voice and set_reminder_channels for WhatsApp or email fallback. For your account and people it has whoami, get_usage, get_recent_calls, list_recipients, add_recipient, resend_recipient_verification and remove_recipient.

What you can ask

The tools disappear into ordinary conversation. "Set a daily medication reminder at 8am London time", "what reminders are active?", "cancel my 6:30am wake-up call", "how many calls have I used this month?" and "ring my phone now to test it" all map to the tools above. Your assistant confirms the time zone before scheduling, because ReminderIt books calls against IANA zones so they land at the correct local time.

Scope, consent and revocation

However you connect, the assistant works only inside your own account and can see and change only your reminders. If you add another person as a care-recipient, ReminderIt places a consent call to them before it will ever ring their phone. You stay in control: revoke any client's access at reminderit.com/api-keys and it stops working immediately, without disturbing your other connected assistants.
