How WhatsApp catches the reminders you miss on a call

Miss the call and the reminder is not lost. ReminderIt can deliver it on WhatsApp with Done and Snooze options, so what you needed still reaches you.

A phone ringing at the right moment is the heart of ReminderIt, but life gets in the way. You are on the other line, the phone is in another room, or the call simply goes unanswered. That is exactly when a reminder is easiest to lose, and exactly where the WhatsApp fallback earns its place.

This post explains what the fallback does, what it looks like when it arrives, and how it fits your monthly allowance.

What the fallback does

When a scheduled reminder call is missed or unanswered, ReminderIt can send the same reminder to you as a WhatsApp message. So even if the call did not connect, the words you needed, take the tablets, leave for the train, still reach you.

It is a safety net rather than the main event. The call goes first; the message steps in only if the call does not land.

Done and Snooze, right in the message

The fallback message can include quick options to mark the reminder Done or to Snooze it. Choosing Done closes it off with a "Marked done ✅"; choosing Snooze asks ReminderIt to try you again in about ten minutes.

That means you can act on the reminder from the message itself, without calling back or opening the dashboard.

It uses WhatsApp, not SMS

The fallback is delivered over WhatsApp. ReminderIt does not send SMS reminders; the channels are voice and WhatsApp. Keeping it on WhatsApp is what allows those Done and Snooze options and a proper two-way reply.

Because it is the same conversation you use to manage reminders, you can also just type back, for example "snooze till 3", and it will understand.

How it counts

An outbound WhatsApp fallback message counts as one call from your pooled monthly allowance, the same pool a voice call draws from (Free 5, Pro 70). One reminder that reaches you by fallback is one call, not two.

So the fallback never doubles your usage for a single reminder; it just changes how that one reminder is delivered when the phone goes unanswered.

A real exchange

ReminderIt: You missed your 8am call. Reminder: take your tablets with breakfast. Reply Done ✅ or Snooze to be reminded again in 10 minutes.

You: Snooze

ReminderIt: No problem, I'll remind you again at about 8:10am.
