Checking calls remaining over WhatsApp

Every ReminderIt plan comes with a set number of reminder calls each month, and it is handy to know where you stand before you fill your week with new ones. You can check that figure without opening the dashboard, just by asking in WhatsApp.

This post explains what the number means, why the chat you use to ask does not eat into it, and what "calls" actually covers.

Just ask in the chat

Message the ReminderIt WhatsApp number with something like "how many calls do I have left this month?" and it reports your remaining allowance. You can phrase it any way you like; "calls left?" works just as well.

The reply reflects your live usage, so it is the same figure you would see on the dashboard, delivered without leaving the conversation.

What the number is

ReminderIt uses a single pooled monthly allowance of reminder calls. On the Free plan that is 5 calls a month; on Pro it is 70. When it tells you what is left, it is counting against that pool.

One call is one outbound voice call, and, importantly, an outbound WhatsApp fallback message counts as a call too. Both are drawn from the same pool, so the remaining number covers whichever way your reminder actually reaches you.

Why checking is free

Messaging ReminderIt to ask about your quota does not use any of it. Inbound WhatsApp chat, the messages you send to set and manage reminders, is free and unmetered.

Only outbound reminders draw from your allowance. So you can check as often as you like, and the act of checking never changes the answer.

A real exchange

You: How many calls have I got left this month?

ReminderIt: You're on Free, with 5 calls a month. You've used 2, so 3 are left. This chat doesn't count towards that.

You: Great, thanks

ReminderIt: Any time. Your allowance resets at the start of next month.

Making the allowance last

If the number is running low, remember that a missed call can fall back to WhatsApp and that fallback also spends from the pool. Keeping your reminders to the ones that truly need a call helps the allowance stretch.
