Ask ChatGPT how many calls you have left

Your monthly call allowance is a quick question away. Ask ChatGPT to run get_usage and whoami to see what is left and confirm your plan.

ReminderIt gives you a pooled monthly call allowance: 5 calls a month on Free and 70 on Pro. Knowing where you stand matters, because one call is either an outbound voice reminder or a single WhatsApp fallback message, and both draw from the same pool.

You do not need to open the dashboard to check. With ChatGPT connected, two tools answer the question in a sentence.

get_usage: used and remaining

Ask ChatGPT "how many ReminderIt calls do I have left this month?" and it calls get_usage. This reports how many calls you have used and how many remain in the current billing period, so you can see your headroom at a glance.

Because the allowance is pooled, that number covers everything: voice calls that went out and any WhatsApp fallback messages sent when a call was missed. There is no separate bucket to track.

whoami: plan and time zone

To know the size of the pool in the first place, ask ChatGPT to run whoami. It reports your plan, so you know whether your ceiling is the Free 5 or the Pro 70, along with your account time zone.

That time zone is worth confirming while you are there, since it is the setting that decides what local hour your calls ring at. Two useful facts, one quick question.

A worked example

Prompt: "Check my ReminderIt account: what plan am I on, and how many calls have I used and got left this month?"

ChatGPT calls whoami and get_usage together, then answers in plain terms, for example: you are on Pro, you have used 18 of 70 calls, and 52 remain this period. If you are close to the limit, that is your cue to prioritise which reminders matter most before the period resets.

What counts as a call

Remember the rule that keeps the number sensible: one call equals one outbound voice call or one outbound WhatsApp fallback message. Messaging ReminderIt to set or manage reminders does not count, that inbound chat is free and does not touch the pool.

So if get_usage looks higher than you expected, it reflects calls and fallbacks that actually went out, not the conversations you had to arrange them.

Using the number to plan

If you are running low, ask ChatGPT to run list_upcoming and decide what to keep. You might pause_reminder on a nice-to-have to protect your allowance for the calls that truly matter, then resume_reminder after the period resets.

Checking usage is a five-second habit that stops you being caught out mid-month, and it is entirely conversational.
