Rescheduling a call from a WhatsApp chat

Days slip and times move. Tell the ReminderIt WhatsApp assistant the new time or day and it reschedules the call, confirming the zone it used.

A reminder is only as good as its timing, and timing changes. A meeting slides to the afternoon, a Monday task becomes a Wednesday one, or you cross into a new time zone and want your morning call to follow. All of that is a quick message away on WhatsApp.

Here is how to move a reminder conversationally and, just as important, how ReminderIt makes sure you both mean the same clock.

Moving a time

Say the new time in plain language. "Push my 8am call to 8:45", "move the dentist reminder to this afternoon", or "make tomorrow's wake-up 7 instead of 6:30". The assistant finds the reminder and shifts it.

If you have more than one reminder that could match, it asks which you mean rather than moving the wrong one. A quick "what reminders do I have?" beforehand also removes any doubt.

Moving a day, or a whole routine

You are not limited to the hour. "Shift my Monday call to Wednesday" moves a one-off, while "change my weekday tablets to weekends" adjusts a recurring routine's pattern. Say it the way you would to a person.

For a routine, be clear whether you are changing every occurrence or just the next one. "From now on" signals the whole routine; "just this week" signals a single move.

Why it always names the time zone

Every reschedule confirmation states the zone, such as America/New_York or Europe/London. This is not fussiness. A call set for "9am" is meaningless until both of you agree which 9am, and travellers in particular can get caught out.

If the confirmed zone is not the one you want, say so, for example "use New York time", and it re-books accordingly.

A real exchange

You: I'm in New York this week, move my 7am wake-up to New York time

ReminderIt: Done. Your wake-up call now rings at 7:00am America/New_York while you're away. Want it to switch back to London time next Monday?

You: Yes please

ReminderIt: Set. New York 7am this week, back to Europe/London 7am from Monday.

Reschedule, or skip just once

Rescheduling changes the time going forward. If you only want to miss a single occurrence and keep the routine as it is, say "skip tomorrow" instead, and the pattern resumes the day after.

You can do any of this by messaging ReminderIt on WhatsApp, so a change of plan never has to mean a missed call.
