How to connect ChatGPT to ReminderIt: full setup guide
Connect ChatGPT to ReminderIt in a few minutes: add the hosted connector, sign in once, confirm your time zone, and place a first reminder call you can verify.

ChatGPT can set and manage real ReminderIt phone reminders once you connect the two through ReminderIt's hosted MCP connector. There is no software to install and no API key to copy: you add one URL, sign in through a consent screen, and you are done. This guide walks the whole path, from adding the connector to hearing your first reminder ring.
What you will end up with
By the end, ChatGPT will be able to create, list, update and delete your reminder calls, check your usage, and place a test call, all in your own ReminderIt account. It only ever sees and changes your reminders, and you can revoke its access whenever you like.
The connection uses the same hosted connector that other MCP clients use, so nothing here is ChatGPT-specific under the hood. You are pointing ChatGPT at ReminderIt's MCP server and approving access once.
Step 1: add the connector
Open ChatGPT's connector or integration settings and choose to add a custom connector. When it asks for a URL, enter https://mcp.reminderit.com. Exact menu names shift over time, so look for wording about connectors, integrations or custom tools rather than an exact label.
That URL is the whole configuration. There is no key to paste and nothing to download, because this is the hosted remote connector rather than a local install.
Step 2: sign in with OAuth
After you add the URL, ChatGPT sends you to a secure ReminderIt sign-in and consent screen. You log in to your ReminderIt account and approve access. That is the moment the link is authorised.
Behind the scenes, approving creates a per-client API key in your account so ChatGPT can act on your behalf. You never handle that key directly, and you can revoke it later at reminderit.com/api-keys.
Step 3: confirm your time zone
ReminderIt schedules against IANA time zones, so before you set anything, tell ChatGPT your zone: something like America/New_York, Europe/London or Asia/Kolkata. Getting this right means an 8am call rings at 8am where you are, not in UTC.
A good opening line is: "My time zone is Europe/London, please use it for all my reminders." Now every schedule you create inherits the correct local time.
Step 4: set a first reminder and verify
Try a real one: "Set a reminder call every weekday at 8am Europe/London that says time for your morning medication." ChatGPT creates it with a cron schedule and reads the details back so you can confirm.
Then verify without waiting for tomorrow: "Ring my phone now to test it." ChatGPT places a test call so you hear the exact wording and voice. If it sounds right, you are fully set up. You can start at reminderit.com.
