Study and revision reminder calls with Claude

Guard your revision time with a call that marks the start of each study session, set by chatting with Claude. Build a weekday schedule with one cron.

Revision fails less from lack of intention than from sessions that never quite begin. A call at the exact moment you meant to start pulls you to the desk far more reliably than a plan written on Sunday night. With ReminderIt connected to Claude, you can build a recurring study schedule in one conversation and tweak it as your term goes on.

The session-start call

The most useful study reminder is the one that marks the beginning of a block. It removes the negotiation with yourself about whether to start now or in ten minutes. When the phone rings and says 'Time to start your history revision,' the decision is already made.

Because a ReminderIt call is one-way, it does not tie up your evening. It reads the prompt and hangs up, leaving you to open the books rather than dismiss a notification.

A recurring weekday schedule

Term-time revision suits a weekday rhythm. Once connected at mcp.reminderit.com, tell Claude: "Set a reminder call every weekday at 6pm, Europe/London, saying 'Time to start your revision session.'" Claude runs create_reminder with a cron of 0 18 * * 1-5.

That single cron field, 1-5, is Monday through Friday. If you revise on weekends too, "make it every day" changes it to 0 18 * * *, and "just Tuesdays and Thursdays" gives 0 18 * * 2,4.

Layering subjects across the week

Different subjects on different evenings is just several reminders with the same time and different wording. Ask for "maths on Monday and Wednesday at 6pm, essays on Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm," and Claude creates two calls with crons of 0 18 * * 1,3 and 0 18 * * 2,4.

Ask "What's my revision timetable?" and it runs list_upcoming so you can see the week laid out. It reads back exactly what will ring and when, which doubles as a quick sanity check on your plan.

Adjusting around mock exams and breaks

Study plans move constantly. "Shift my revision call to 7pm this week" uses update_reminder. During a half-term break, "Skip revision calls for the next few days" or a targeted "Skip tomorrow's session" uses skip_next_occurrence so you are not nagged while you rest.

When exams are over, "Delete my revision reminders" clears the schedule in one ask. Nothing lingers to ring at you in the summer.

Making it stick

Keep the wording specific to the subject so the call means something the instant you hear it. If you miss a session-start call, ReminderIt can follow up over WhatsApp, where tapping Snooze rings you again in about ten minutes, useful when you genuinely meant to start but got pulled away.

Study calls draw from your monthly allowance, 5 on Free and 70 on Pro, so a nightly weekday schedule of around 22 calls a month sits comfortably on Pro. You can build yours at reminderit.com.
