How Inbound Call Reminders Work: Set a Reminder by Calling In
ReminderIt's inbound call feature lets you create a reminder by calling a number and saying what you need. The system transcribes, schedules, and calls you back.

Most people create reminders by opening an app, typing a message, and setting a time. But sometimes the fastest way to capture a reminder is to just call a number and say it — especially when you're driving, your hands are full, or typing would take longer than speaking. ReminderIt's inbound call feature lets you do exactly this: call in, speak your reminder, and receive the call back at the right time.
How inbound call reminders work
ReminderIt provides an inbound number (available in your dashboard settings). When you call it, an automated system answers and prompts you to speak your reminder: what you want to be reminded about, and when. The system uses voice recognition to transcribe your message and extract the time, then schedules a callback at that time.
For example: you call in while driving and say 'Remind me to call the accountant at 3pm today'. The system confirms what it heard, schedules the call, and at 3pm your phone rings with the message 'Call your accountant'. No typing, no screen time, no app required.
Who uses inbound call reminders
Inbound call reminders are most useful for people who think of things to do while their hands or eyes are occupied: driving, cooking, in a meeting, out walking. The friction of stopping, unlocking a phone, opening an app, and typing out a reminder is enough to lose the thought. Calling takes 20 seconds and captures the reminder immediately.
It's also useful for people who aren't comfortable with apps — older adults in particular often find calling far easier than navigating a smartphone interface. Call in, speak the reminder, hang up. Done.
WhatsApp inbound: an alternative for quick reminders
For users who prefer WhatsApp, ReminderIt also supports inbound WhatsApp messages. Send a message to the ReminderIt WhatsApp number with your reminder text and time — 'Remind me to pick up prescriptions at 5pm' — and the system parses it and schedules a callback.
WhatsApp inbound is faster than calling for most people, and the confirmation message in WhatsApp gives you a written record of what was scheduled. Both inbound channels — call and WhatsApp — feed into the same reminder system.
Setting up inbound reminders
Inbound call and WhatsApp reminders are available to ReminderIt subscribers. In your dashboard settings, find the 'Inbound' section to see your assigned inbound number and WhatsApp contact. Save these to your phone contacts — 'ReminderIt' — so calling or messaging is one tap away when a reminder occurs to you.
Adding the contact to your favourites or speed dial makes the inbound feature feel as frictionless as possible — the goal is to capture reminders faster than the thought can disappear.
