Deadline and meeting reminder calls through Claude

Set a pre-meeting nudge or a deadline call in the window where you already work, by asking Claude. One-off and recurring calls each take a single sentence.

The reminders you most need at work are the ones you are too busy to set. When Claude is already open in your editor or browser and connected to ReminderIt, you can book a call for a looming deadline or a meeting in five minutes' time without breaking your flow. It rings your phone at the moment that matters, so a buried calendar entry never becomes a missed commitment.

Two shapes of work reminder

Most work nudges fall into two buckets. A one-off is a specific moment: the client call at 3pm today, or the grant submission that closes on Friday. Recurring is a rhythm: the stand-up every weekday, or the timesheet due each Friday afternoon. ReminderIt handles both, and Claude picks the right shape from how you phrase it.

For a one-off, Claude sets type once and a run_at in ISO 8601. For a recurring nudge it uses a cron expression or interval_days. Either way it confirms your IANA time zone first so a 3pm call is 3pm where you sit.

The pre-meeting nudge

A call a few minutes before a meeting beats a notification you swipe away without reading. Tell Claude: "Call me at 2:55pm today, America/New_York, and say 'Client review with Acme starts in five minutes.'" It runs create_reminder with type once and a run_at of today at 14:55.

The call reads that line and hangs up, giving you a clean, spoken heads-up to close what you are doing and join. Nothing to tap, nothing to dismiss.

The deadline call

Deadlines deserve a firmer prompt. For a one-off cut-off, say "Remind me by phone at 9am on the 30th that the tax return is due today." For a repeating one, "Call me every Friday at 4pm to submit my timesheet" gives Claude a cron of 0 16 * * 5.

You can layer nudges, too: one call the day before and one on the morning itself. Each is a separate create_reminder, so cancelling one later does not touch the other.

Checking and adjusting mid-week

Ask "What work reminders do I have this week?" and Claude runs list_upcoming so you can see everything scheduled at a glance. If a meeting moves, "Push the Acme reminder to 4pm" uses update_reminder to shift just that call.

Setting these from inside your working session means the reminder is captured while the context is fresh, rather than after you have switched apps and forgotten the detail.

Staying inside your allowance

Work calls draw from the same monthly pool as everything else: 5 on Free, 70 on Pro. If you rely on several nudges a day, Pro is the comfortable fit. A missed call can fall back to WhatsApp so an unanswered ring at your desk still reaches you.

You can wire the connector up once at mcp.reminderit.com and set every future deadline just by asking.
