Is it safe to connect Claude to ReminderIt?

It is a fair question to ask before linking any assistant to a service that can phone people on your behalf. The short answer is that connecting Claude to ReminderIt is designed to be safe and reversible: you approve access through OAuth, a key is created just for that client, and you can pull it back whenever you like. Here is the fuller picture, without glossing over the details.

You approve access through OAuth

The hosted connector never asks you to paste a secret key into Claude. Instead you go through an OAuth consent screen, the same pattern you have seen when a website asks to use your account elsewhere. You see what is being requested and you approve it deliberately.

Nothing is connected until you complete that consent. If you close the screen without approving, no access is granted. The decision to connect is an explicit, conscious one.

Each client gets its own revocable key

Behind that approval, ReminderIt creates a per-client API key tied to your account. Because the key is specific to that client, you can manage each connection independently. Connect Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor and each holds its own separate key.

You can see and revoke these at reminderit.com/api-keys. Revoking Claude's key cuts off Claude alone and leaves your other assistants working. That separation is what makes disconnecting low-stakes: you are never forced into an all-or-nothing choice.

What the assistant can see

When connected, Claude can read the things it needs to help: your reminders, your call usage, your available voices, and the care-recipients you have added. It sees this within your account only, and it has no visibility into anyone else's data.

That access exists so it can answer questions like "What reminders do I have?" and act on them. It is the same information you would see in your own dashboard, nothing more.

The honest limits, and the safeguards

Being straight about it: a connected assistant can create, change and delete reminders in your account, and can place a test call that uses one of your monthly calls. That is real capability, so treat the connection like any account access and only link clients you trust.

The safeguards are meaningful, though. The assistant cannot exceed your call quota, cannot override anyone's opt-out, and cannot add another person without a consent call to them first. Reaching beyond you always requires the other person's agreement.

Disconnecting whenever you want

Safety includes an easy exit. If you ever change your mind, revoke the client's key at reminderit.com/api-keys and its access ends immediately. You do not need to contact support or wait for anything to expire.

For a local Claude Desktop setup, the equivalent is removing the key from your claude_desktop_config.json and restarting the client. Either way, ending access is a single, quick step that is entirely in your hands.
