Building habits with Claude-scheduled reminder calls
A ringing phone is a stronger habit cue than a silent notification. Build routines with recurring ReminderIt calls set up by chatting with Claude.

Habits stick when the cue is hard to ignore. A push notification slides up and vanishes; a phone call that says your reminder aloud in a warm voice actually interrupts the moment. With ReminderIt connected to Claude, you can turn that call into a daily anchor for any routine you are trying to build, and adjust it just by talking.
Why a call makes a better cue
The hardest part of a new habit is remembering to do it at all. A scheduled ReminderIt call rings your phone at the chosen time and reads a short message you wrote, then hangs up. It is one-way by design: it does not quiz you or wait for a reply. That single, unmissable prompt is often enough to trigger the behaviour you are chaining it to.
Because it is a real call rather than a banner, it works even when your screen is face down or you are mid-task. That reliability is what lets a cue become automatic over a few weeks.
Setting a recurring habit call with Claude
Once your assistant is connected at mcp.reminderit.com, you describe the habit in plain language and Claude reaches for create_reminder. Recurring habits use either a cron expression or interval_days, so a daily cue and an every-other-day cue are both a single sentence away.
Always confirm your IANA time zone in the same breath, for example Europe/London or America/New_York, so the call lands at the right local moment rather than in UTC.
A worked example: an evening stretch routine
Try: "Set a daily reminder call at 9pm Europe/London that says 'Time for your ten-minute stretch before bed.'" Claude calls create_reminder with a cron of 0 21 * * * and your time zone, then reads the schedule back to you.
To check it landed, ask "What's coming up?" and Claude runs list_upcoming. If you want to hear how it sounds before tonight, say "Ring me now to test it" and it uses test_call to place a one-off call straightaway.
Iterating by conversation
Habits need tuning, and that is where chatting beats a settings screen. If 9pm turns out too early, say "Move my stretch reminder to 9:30" and Claude uses update_reminder to shift the time while keeping the message. Want it only on weekdays? "Make it Monday to Friday" rewrites the cron to 0 21 * * 1-5.
On a night you are away, "Skip tomorrow's stretch call" uses skip_next_occurrence so the streak logic in your head does not get derailed by a single missed day.
Closing the loop after the call
The call itself is one-way, but you are not left hanging. If you miss it, ReminderIt can follow up over WhatsApp, where you can tap Snooze to be called again in about ten minutes, or reply to mark it done. You can also just message the ReminderIt WhatsApp number any time to adjust a habit, which is free and unmetered.
Keep an eye on your monthly allowance as you add routines: Free covers 5 calls a month and Pro covers 70, drawn from one pooled quota. You can set all of this up at reminderit.com.
