Using ReminderIt with ChatGPT on mobile

Schedule real reminder calls from the ChatGPT app on your phone, using the same account and connector you already set up on the desktop.

The best moment to set a reminder is the moment you think of it, and that moment is usually when your phone is already in your hand. ReminderIt works with ChatGPT on mobile exactly as it does on the desktop, so a thought becomes a scheduled call in a few taps.

This post covers connecting on mobile, some on-the-go prompts worth memorising, and the one confirmation to watch for.

Same account, nothing new to install

If you already added ReminderIt as a custom connector in ChatGPT, your phone inherits it the moment you sign in to the same ChatGPT account. There is no separate mobile app for ReminderIt and no key to type on a small keyboard.

If you have not connected yet, you can still do it from the phone: in ChatGPT's connector settings add https://mcp.reminderit.com and complete the OAuth sign-in. It is the same hosted route, just on a smaller screen.

On-the-go prompts that work well by voice or thumb

Mobile rewards short, complete sentences. A few that land cleanly: "Call me at 6pm Asia/Kolkata to take the chicken out of the freezer." Or "Remind me by phone every weekday at 8:30am Europe/London to leave for the school run."

Each of these gives ChatGPT everything create_reminder needs in one line: what to say, when, and in which time zone. If you use ChatGPT's voice input, speaking the zone name out loud, such as "America/Los_Angeles", keeps it unambiguous.

Confirm the time zone while you are moving

Travelling makes time zones slippery, which is exactly when confirming them matters most. ReminderIt uses IANA zones, so name the zone you mean rather than relying on where your phone currently is.

When ChatGPT reads back "that is 8:30am on weekdays, Europe/London," take the extra second to confirm. It is the difference between a wake-up call at breakfast and one at 3am.

Checking and tidying up from your pocket

Mobile is not just for creating reminders. Ask "what have I got coming up?" and ChatGPT runs list_upcoming so you can glance at the next calls due. "Cancel my 6:30am wake-up call" reaches delete_reminder to clear one you no longer need.

You can also check your allowance on the move with "how many calls have I used this month?", which uses get_usage. Free accounts include 5 calls a month and Pro includes 70, drawn from one pool.

After the call rings

The scheduled call itself is one-way: your phone rings, the voice reads the reminder, and there is nothing to tap during it. To snooze or mark it done, use the WhatsApp follow-up afterwards; a snooze calls you again in about ten minutes.

That split keeps the call simple when you are busy and gives you a quick way to respond once your hands are free.
