ChatGPT and ReminderIt for ADHD reminder calls
Silent notifications blend into the noise; a ringing phone cuts through. Here is how to set ADHD-friendly nudge calls quickly through ChatGPT.

If notifications pile up unseen and time slips away between tasks, a silent reminder is easy to lose in the background. A phone call is different: it interrupts. That interruption is exactly what makes reminder calls a practical tool for many people with ADHD.
This guide shows how to set up recurring nudge calls through ChatGPT quickly, so the setup itself does not become another task that never gets done.
Why a call cuts through
A notification competes with dozens of others and asks you to notice it. A ringing phone demands a response in the moment, which is far harder to tune out. ReminderIt reads your reminder aloud in a natural voice, turning an easily-ignored ping into an event you actually register.
For task initiation, that difference matters. The call arrives, names the thing, and gives you a concrete moment to start rather than a badge you will get to later.
Set it up in one sentence
The setup should be quick, because a complicated system is one you will abandon. Through ChatGPT you describe the nudge in plain English and it does the rest: no forms, no menus. "Call me every weekday at 2pm to take a break and reset" is enough.
Because you are just talking, you can add reminders the moment you think of them rather than saving it for later, which is often where good intentions get lost.
Recurring nudges for the day
Body-doubling your own day with a few regular calls can anchor it. A mid-morning start-your-main-task call, a lunch call, and an afternoon reset call give structure without a rigid schedule. Each is a simple recurring reminder.
Keep the wording action-focused, for example "start the report now, just the first paragraph", so the call points you at a small first step rather than a vague duty.
If a call slips past you
The scheduled call is one-way: it rings and reads the nudge aloud, with nothing to tap during it. If you miss it, ReminderIt can fall back to a WhatsApp message so the nudge still lands.
Afterwards you can reply on WhatsApp in plain text to mark it done, or snooze it so it calls again in about ten minutes: useful when you saw the call but were mid-task. That chat is free and unmetered.
Example: an afternoon focus nudge
Type into ChatGPT: "Call me every weekday at 2pm Europe/London and tell me to start my most important task, just the first five minutes." ChatGPT uses create_reminder with the cron 0 14 * * 1-5 in Europe/London.
Try it straight away with "ring my phone now to test it", which prompts test_call, then "show my upcoming calls" to run list_upcoming and see the week laid out. Adjust the wording any time until it lands the way you need.
