Black Friday 2026 Is November 27: Cyber Monday, Early Sales and the Deadlines That Come After
Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27, the day after Thanksgiving, and Cyber Monday is November 30. The sales are easy to remember; the return windows, trial cancellations and card due dates that follow are not.

Black Friday is one date nobody forgets, because every shop reminds you. The dates that matter afterwards get no adverts at all: the last day to return something, when a free trial you signed up for starts charging, and when the card bill for it all is due. Here are the 2026 dates and a short plan for the weeks that follow.
The 2026 dates
- Thanksgiving (US): Thursday, November 26, 2026
- Black Friday: Friday, November 27, 2026
- Small Business Saturday (US): Saturday, November 28, 2026
- Cyber Monday: Monday, November 30, 2026
Black Friday is always the Friday after US Thanksgiving, which falls on the fourth Thursday of November. Many countries outside the US, including the UK, Canada and Australia, use the same date.
In practice, sales start earlier. Many retailers run "early Black Friday" or "Black Week" offers for a week or two beforehand, and some begin in late October. Check the retailers you care about rather than assuming the best price lands on the Friday.
Before the sales: make a short list
The easiest way to avoid regret buys is to decide in advance:
- Write down the few things you actually need, with a price you'd be happy to pay.
- Note the current price now, so you can tell whether a "deal" is really lower.
- Set a spending limit for the weekend.
Price-tracking tools and wish lists can alert you to drops. A dated reminder to check your list on the morning of the sale stops you from scrolling deals for an hour instead.
The deadlines that come after
Return windows. Return periods usually count from the date of purchase or delivery, not from Christmas. Many large retailers extend returns for holiday purchases, often into January, but policies vary by shop and sometimes by product (electronics and opened items are often shorter). Check the policy at checkout and note the last return date for anything you might send back.
Free trials. Sales weekends are full of "free for 30 days" offers for streaming, shipping memberships and apps. If you don't want to keep paying, set a reminder a couple of days before the trial ends.
Gift receipts. If you're buying gifts early, ask for gift receipts and keep them together. The person receiving the gift may need them inside the return window.
Price drops after you buy. Some retailers adjust the price if it falls within a short period after purchase; many don't. If yours does, a reminder to re-check a week later is worth it.
Your card bill. A big weekend often lands on the next statement. Knowing your statement and due dates helps you avoid interest. Our guide to the credit card 15/3 rule explains how these dates work.
A simple reminder plan
- Mid-November: make your list and note today's prices.
- Friday, November 27, morning: check your list against the deals.
- Monday, November 30: Cyber Monday check for anything still on the list.
- Two days before each free trial ends: cancel or decide to keep it.
- A week before each return window closes: decide on anything you might send back.
- Your card due date in December: pay the balance.
