Medication reminder calls set through ChatGPT
A phone that rings at dose time is harder to ignore than a notification. Here is how to set medication calls through ChatGPT and test them first.

A silent notification is easy to swipe away and forget. A phone call that rings and reads your dose aloud is much harder to miss, which is exactly why a recurring voice reminder suits medication so well.
This guide shows how to set dose-time calls through ChatGPT, confirm they will ring exactly when you expect, and prove it with a real test call before you depend on it. One honest note first: ReminderIt is a memory aid, not medical advice, and it does not replace guidance from your doctor or pharmacist.
Turn a dosing schedule into calls
Start from how the medication is actually taken: once daily, twice daily, or a specific set of times. Each distinct time becomes a recurring call. Twice a day at 8am and 8pm is two reminders, not one, so name both.
Give ChatGPT the times, the zone and the exact words to read. "Take your morning tablet" is clearer than a bare "medication", because the call reads your message aloud and specificity helps at the moment it matters.
Confirm the time zone every time
Dose timing only works if the call lands at the right local hour, so always include an IANA zone such as Europe/London or Asia/Kolkata. If you leave it out, let ChatGPT ask rather than assume.
Because reminders stay pinned to their named zone, daylight saving is handled automatically. If you travel and want doses to follow local time, ask ChatGPT to update the reminder's zone once you arrive.
Test the call before you trust it
Do not wait until a real dose time to find out how the call sounds. Ask ChatGPT to "ring my phone now to test the medication reminder" and it uses test_call to place an immediate call reading your message. You hear the voice, the wording and the volume in advance.
If the phrasing is off or the voice too fast, adjust it and test again. It is far better to shake out these details now than during a moment you were counting on.
If you miss the call
The scheduled call is one-way: it rings and reads the reminder aloud, with no menu to press during it. If you miss it, ReminderIt can fall back to a WhatsApp message so the reminder still reaches you.
You can also manage doses by messaging ReminderIt on WhatsApp afterwards in plain text: mark a reminder done, or snooze it so it calls again in about ten minutes. That follow-up chat is text only and free.
Example: a twice-daily reminder
Type into ChatGPT: "Call me every day at 8am and 8pm Europe/London to take my blood pressure tablet." ChatGPT makes two create_reminder calls, one with the cron 0 8 * * * and one with 0 20 * * *, both in Europe/London.
Then confirm with "show my upcoming medication calls" so ChatGPT runs list_upcoming, and finish with "ring me now to test it" so test_call proves the whole thing works. Remember this is an aid to help you remember, not a substitute for medical advice.
