ChatGPT reminder calls — schedule phone reminders via ChatGPT

Import the ReminderIt action into a Custom GPT and ask ChatGPT to set a reminder call. It schedules the time; we make the call.

ChatGPT Custom GPT Actions let you give ChatGPT access to external APIs by providing an OpenAPI spec. ReminderIt ships a ready-made OpenAPI action covering your full reminder account — so you can ask ChatGPT to set a wake-up call at 6:30am every weekday and it will create it in seconds, with ReminderIt placing the actual call at the right time.

Setting up the ChatGPT action

In ChatGPT, go to Explore GPTs → Create a GPT → Configure → Add Action. Import from the URL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Venkatnvs/ReminderIt/master/chatgpt-action/openapi.yaml. Set authentication to API Key, header name X-API-Key, and paste your ReminderIt API key. Save, and your Custom GPT can now set calls.

What ChatGPT can do with ReminderIt

Create one-off and recurring reminders with full timezone support, list and manage existing reminders, check your remaining call credits, add care recipients for family members, skip upcoming occurrences, and trigger test calls. The full API is exposed through the action spec.

Why this beats reminder apps

Reminder apps require you to open them, navigate menus, and fill forms. With a ChatGPT Custom GPT, you describe what you need and ChatGPT figures out the parameters — the time, the recurrence, the timezone — and calls the ReminderIt API for you. The output is a real phone call, not a notification you'll swipe away.

What you get

  • Set up in minutes with a URL import — no coding needed
  • Natural language to real phone call, via ChatGPT
  • Full reminder management through conversation
  • Works with ChatGPT Plus and Team plans
  • X-API-Key authentication — secure and straightforward
