Timezones & travel
The right time, wherever you are
Your timezone is set from your phone number when you start. Travelling or moved? Tell us the city and your reminders keep their clock time there — 8 AM stays 8 AM.

How it works
- 1
We guess from your number
When you message us, we set your timezone from your phone number and tell you which one we picked.
- 2
Fix it with a city
Wrong guess, or on a trip? Send “timezone” and a city — “timezone London”, “timezone Mumbai”.
- 3
Same clock time, new place
Your own reminders move with you and keep their clock time. Reminders you set for family stay exactly as they were.
Things you can send
timezone London
Your timezone becomes Europe/London.
timezone Tokyo
On a trip: your 8 AM reminder now rings at 8 AM Tokyo time.
call me in 2 hours
Counted from now, wherever you are.
set a call at 3am
We ask you to confirm first — middle-of-the-night times are usually an AM/PM slip.
Good to know
- Every reminder is pinned to a real city timezone, so daylight saving is handled automatically.
- Changing your timezone moves your own active reminders to the same clock time in the new zone.
- Reminders you set for other people are left alone — they may live somewhere else.
- We can call numbers in most countries, and WhatsApp reminders work wherever WhatsApp does.

Frequently asked questions
How do you know my timezone?
From your phone number's country when you first message us. We tell you which one we picked, and you can change it anytime with “timezone <city>” or in Settings on the website.
What happens to my reminders when I change timezone?
Your own active reminders keep the same clock time in the new timezone. A one-time reminder whose new time has already passed stays where it was.
I remind my parents in another country. Does my trip move their calls?
No. Changing your timezone only moves your own reminders. Reminders you set for other people stay exactly as they were, and we always read back the exact time when you set one, so you can check it.
Does it handle daylight saving time?
Yes. Each reminder uses a real timezone, so a 9 PM reminder rings at 9 PM before and after the clocks change.
Does ReminderIt work in my country?
We can call numbers in most countries, and WhatsApp reminders work wherever WhatsApp does.
